Making memories wherever you are.

It’s summer time and schools are on vacation. It’s a time when many take trips to far and wide. I love to travel. I grew up in a family that loved to travel and camp and have been to many different states. Circumstances do not allow for me to travel as much as I would like now that I have my own family. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. I am learning to make the most of whatever our circumstances are and how to have fun wherever we are.

I want to make memories with the family and maybe learn something along the way. So, we look for opportunities to do that close to home. Our city has so much to offer for families. We are blessed to live in a city that prides itself on making cultural experiences free for the community. We have many wonderful museums and parks that are free to everyone. Tonight, our plan is to go see a musical in an outdoor theater that has a section of free seats in the back. We will picnic in the park before the show and have a fun time with family. This is one way we can enjoy theater on a small budget.

Look around your community and see what it offers for families. Be open to the possibilities that are right around the corner. Look for state parks and historical sites. Check out the museums. Go for a hike or bike on a near by path. Look for local theater groups that offer good entertainment for a good price.

Whether you can travel far and wide or need to stay close to home, just make sure to have fun and make memories along the way!
